About Skrev Press

Daithidh MacEochaidh Skrev founded in 2003 to promote shorter fiction. Skrev is an independent press not supported by any arts funding body: an Independent Press in search of an Independent Public. Now based in the Pennines, after a delightful genesis in Northumberland and a nurturing in Wales, it exists to support writers and new writing. It continues to publish authors from around the world: India, USA, Bulgaria, Germany ...

Publishing Specialities

Skrev is divided into several publishing specialities and concerns: SINAP, PINP, Texts' Bones and Hanging Johnny. SINAP concentrates on the major titles: novels, novellas and collections of short stories. PINP focuses on poetry, producing strong original work, at odds with dull, vapid titles churned out elsewhere. Text's Bones is an annual publication that seeks to promote the experimental, the unloved avant garde or off-the-wall textual Frankenstein, though, not exclusively so. Strong original fiction is sought, those in the UK receive £5 per story; others receive two copies of the journal. Hanging Johnny is a new venture; an annual journal that aims to publish a wide and far-reaching range of poetry. For those in the UK, it pays a pound per poem published.
